  • Learn to surf Portugal surf camp.

    SURFING

    Firstly, depending on whether you've been on a surfboard before or not, you'll be divided into beginners and intermediates. This way, you can learn optimally, building on your previous knowledge.

    Courses run for 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) and last for 3 hours.

    The course always starts on Monday. Course times may vary. Depending on wave conditions, the surf course may even take place before breakfast.

  • Eat healthy and fresh everyday

    Meal time

    At the Surf House in Ericeira you can choose to include fresh daily meals, which includes a delicious breakfast and a freshly prepared dinner each evening. Enjoy vibrant, locally inspired meals for dinner, while breakfast offers a selection of fresh fruit, muesli, sandwiches, and refreshing drinks to start your day.

    On the remaining two evenings, you’re free to explore the area and try some of the fantastic local restaurants.

    For lunch, there are several great beach bars and cozy spots nearby that we highly recommend.

    Things to do out of the water

    If you want to practice other sports besides surfing, in Ericeira, you have plenty of options: diving, fishing, horseback riding, tennis, or jet skiing are just a selection of activities you can enjoy in the city.

    The villa itself features a pool, skateboard mini ramp, outdoor gym and many more activities.

  • Yoga sessions.

    Relax and unwind

    Whether you're a beginner or experienced, you're warmly invited to discover the benefits of yoga exercises on our yoga terrace and bring harmony to your body and mind.

    The combination of poses and breathing exercises allows you to develop your mental and physical potential, recover from a challenging day in the water, and strengthen your body for the next day of surfing.

We’ve packed our Portugal Surf Camp with everything you need for an unforgettable adventure—surfing, activities, and loads of fun. Here’s what you can expect:

  • We have a wide variety of sleeping arrangements. Choose from a Double room with sea view, a Double room with private bathroom, Family and friends units or if you want to meet new friends then why not bunk in the Dormitories.

Included

  • We’ll help guide you to good options but as our guests come from all over the globe, we don’t include flights.

  • We highly recommended taking out travel insurance. Most insurers do cover surfing but please double check.

Not Included

  • Each morning enjoy delicious breakfasts and dinners freshly prepared every day.

  • Arrivals are flexible and at your convenience.

    The nearest airport is Lisbon, where we offer a convenient airport transfer service. Transfers from Ericeira train station are free of charge.

    • Lisbon Airport Transfer: €30 per person (one way)

    • Individual Pickup: €60 per person (one way) — available upon request, with the difference payable on-site.

    Transfers from Lisbon Airport are scheduled at regular intervals by prior arrangement with our Surf House management.

  • Make the most of the local cuisine. There are plenty of delicious restaurants in the area to choose from.

  • All lessons take place from Monday to Friday and last for approximately 3 hours. We cater for all levels including beginners and intermediates.

    Surf equipment is included but feel free to bring your own if you wish.

    You can also choose to do a trial surf lesson and if you decide to book the full course after the trial then we will discount the trial lesson from the overall course fee.

  • All surf equipment is included in the lessons but if you are not having lessons or wish to surf outside of the lessons then you can hire our surf equipment.

  • Surfing can take it out of you and what better way to relax and stretch out the muscles than Yoga on the Terrace.

  • Our surf camp combines daily surfing lessons, guided sessions, and plenty of downtime to relax and soak in the atmosphere. Expect to learn or improve your surfing skills, enjoy delicious meals, explore and adventure around each destination with extra excursions and connect with like-minded individuals in a beautiful setting.  

  • Absolutely! Our experienced instructors cater to all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced surfers. We’ll ensure that everyone feels safe and supported in the water.  

  • Each camp varies slightly but will typically include:  

    •⁠  ⁠Accommodation  

    •⁠  ⁠Daily surf lessons or guided surf sessions  

    •⁠  ⁠Surf equipment (board, leash, wetsuit, etc.)  

    •⁠  ⁠Group activities (e.g., yoga, hikes)  

    •⁠  ⁠Meals - typically we will bring our chef who will provide breakfast, light and dinners. 

    Please refer to the retreat details for specifics.  

  • Flights are not included. Depending on the camp, transportation from the nearest airport or meeting point can be arranged.

  • No problem! Just let us know and we will make sure we don’t share any photos of you. We can still get some epic shots for you to take home with you if you want. 

  • Here’s a recommended packing list:  

    • ⁠Swimwear

    • Beach towel

    • Sunscreen + Zinc (reef-safe) and sun protection

    • Casual clothing and flip-flops

    • Hat and sunglasses

    • Reusable water bottle

    • Personal toiletries

    • Any medication you may need

    • Sturdy shoes for walking 

    We provide all necessary surf equipment, but feel free to bring your own if preferred.  

  • Surfing is an active sport, but you don’t need to be an athlete! We recommend being comfortable swimming in open water and having a moderate fitness level to make the most of your experience. However if it is your goal to overcome certain fears of water we will be more than happy to help guide you through the week. 

  • Nope! We can provide high-quality surfboards and wetsuits for all participants. If you’d like to use your own equipment, feel free to bring it along just let us know. 

  • Yes! Depending on the camp, activities may include yoga, hiking, skateboarding, or local cultural experiences. Details will be provided in your itinerary.  

  • Of course! Free time is built into the schedule so you can relax, explore, or maybe even have another surf. 

  • Safety is our top priority. If conditions aren’t ideal for surfing, we’ll adapt the schedule with alternative activities, such as surf theory workshops, yoga, or drive along the coast until we find a good spot. 

  • Definitely! Our instructors are experienced in teaching beginners. You’ll start with the basics and progress at your own pace in a supportive environment.  

  • Our retreats are designed for adults ( 18+).

  • Please refer to our cancellation policy in our terms and conditions for details. We understand that plans can change and will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests.  

  • Absolutely! Many of our guests join solo. It’s a fantastic way to meet new people and enjoy a shared adventure.

  • Yes! We would love for you all to join us. Just let us know and we will try our best to accommodate you as best we can for your sleeping arrangements.

    Talking about technical things
    - we were guided in the best surf spot of the island
    - everyone had the chance to surf and to progress, beginner (first-timer) were already reading and surfing their own green wave after 5 lessons.
    Intermediates were practicing turns to follow right or left-handed waves
    - theory class to understand the forecast, wind, swell, priorities, currents etc.
